We got mail!

From our new friend Spooon 1) great show - Thanks 2) can u recommend how to score my 8 person, head to head, playoff league? I'm currently using nfl.com basic rules and running it on the free yahoo football site. how do u score yours?

We use Yahoo who has a very good free league setup. My league is 10 guys so we let 8 into the playoffs and then 2 get left out. This year we are only letting in 6 for the playoffs to keep from loosing guys who may not play, ie Peyton Manning last year. As for scoring we score the same way as the regular season.

3) this is my 2nd league and i'm setting it up and wasn't sure if 6 bench to 8 staters is
too much. 1 qb, 2rb, 2wr, 1te, 1k, 1def, 6 bench
Depends on how large your league is. Typically I would suggest keeping as many guys out there for your coaches as possible. In a 10 team league if you have 6 guys on the bench that 60 unavailble players. Thats a lot of guys just sitting there. You know one guy will have 4 QB's just so that nobody else has them. You may want to limit the bench players or up the guys that they play, add in a WR/RB or a add in another WR. Keep in mind the more bench guys you have, later in the season it could bite you in the ass.
4) please continue talking about the later draft picks
I'm trying to mix it up. My promise, I will never tell you when to draft Peyton Manning.
5) i'm using ipodder and would like to see the feed url clearly displayed on your blog. i had a hard time tracking that url down.
I would use iTunes but if you HAVE to use iPodder, the XML link is displayed right when you click on the XML button or on the "subscribe with newsreader" right at the top. I'm not a big fan of having code just laying around for spammers to see. Its bad enough they look into the source code.
6) a messageboard on your blog would be cool too. i use chatterbox on my blogger
I was thinking about that, what do you guys and gals think, want a messageboard, if I get enough interest I'll throw one up.

thanks for answering my questions

i listen to you at work and can't install itunes and IE we have doesn't let me click that button so I had to find that link at other sites.

I will take your advice and add another position or reduce bench players. It makes it easier to manage a roster when u don't have to worry about players slacking in seasons end.

i vote for a message board

thanks for talking about this over your podcast

I have decided to reduce the starting roster and bench so more people are available. In my first league a guy had like 4 bench runningbacks. Yeah, that really was bad for people going into the playoffs.
