One of the biggest complaints we get about our live version of The Tuesday Night Tech Show is the chatroom sometimes doesn't work properly. Well, we may have a temporary fix for those problems by using an IRC client to connect to our chatroom (which is the same chatroom you see on our video and uStream page). Eventually, this should be solved on Ustream.tv when (and if) they allow separate streams to cohabitate on the same page--this will then eliminate the need to host our separate videos on a separate page elsewhere on the web. Another complaint was that when we paste in links to the stories we talk about, you cannot click on them in the chatroom. With an IRC client, you can click on those links!

Here are the general settings you will be using in your IRC client if you want to experiment. Keep in mind you have to have a valid Ustream.tv login username for this to work.

This link should allow your IRC client to open the chatroom.

IRC Server Name: chat1.ustream.tv
Username: Your Ustream.tv username
Password: Your Ustream.tv password
Channel Name: Live-From-Upstate-New-York
