Redskins looking to deal quarterback Ramsey: "Washington Redskins coach Joe Gibbs has acknowledged that the team is trying to trade former first-round quarterback Patrick Ramsey, and has granted permission to the one-time starter and his agent to seek potential trade suitors as well."

I think that is a big mistake. I've been a skins fan since Jurgeson was with Philly and I think Coach Joe is one of the greatest football minds ever. But think about this: Brunnel had a good year in '05, staying pretty healthy but the dude is 35 years old and his days are numbered. Jason Campbel MIGHT be a good QB, someday. So if Brunnel goes down, you want a kid without so much as a NFL snap to go in? Ramsey has his shortfalls, not too nimble and holds the ball way too long but isn't that what QB coaches are for? Build around him like the Dolphins did for Marino, just to name one. Ramsey knows the game plan and he's got one hell of an arm. Teach him, don't trade him. In spite of all the respect I have for Coach Joe, I think he's wrong on this one.
