Some Analysis about Edge from our new friend Jeff Boggis

James is working on a one-year contract as the team's franchise player, and the 26-year-old should head into the 2006 offseason as the prize of the free agent market, along with Alexander. You can bet The Edge will want to ensure he gets the big payday that awaits him next winter, so set aside any worries about motivation. Expect James to have no problem approaching his 2004 numbers - 1,548 yards rushing, 483 yards receiving - in the Colts offense this year.

Only his
touchdowns - he's averaged just seven the past three seasons - keep him from being in the class of Tomlinson or Alexander, but that might change with defenses trying harder than ever to stop Peyton Manning's aerial circus. The money factor is also enough to make me think long and hard about taking James over Priest Holmes and everybody else after Tomlinson and Alexander are gone come draft day.

The big contract year running backs are:
Shaun Alexander, Seahawks

Edgerrin James, Colts

Brian Westbrook, RB, Eagles

Michael Bennett, RB, Vikings

Moe Williams, RB, Vikings

Ahman Green, RB, Packers

Najeh Davenport, RB, Packers

DeShaun Foster, RB, Panthers

Thanks Jeff!

I also would take Edge over Holmes. -I hate to say that but for having a safe pick-

These 2 you can grab in Rd. 2 or 3
Ahman Green, RB, Packers
Brian Westbrook, RB, Eagles

I only worry about injuries -haven't they consitantly been getting hurt?
Michael Bennett, RB, Vikings
DeShaun Foster, RB, Panthers

I think i'd run out holmes till he gets hurt than pick up the back of the moment. Those darn colts just don't seem to rely on edge enough. i can't figure it out. i think they were running the ball well against ne last year but sort of abandoned the run and never really got the passing game going.

i like westbrook alot. as well as bennett. i think those two could be steals.

Bennett will loose the job, Moore is waiting.

that's very possible, moore looked good last year.

that

that deshaun foster (sp) name looks interesting. he can run his ass off. anyone been looking into him?

I tell ya, delohme is a killer quarterback and has some great weapons this year, plus he's a fighter.

could be a good pick

I've looked at him a little bit. I know when he has played in the past he put up big numbers. My only issue is, all I can ever remember about him is that he has always been hurt. (same goes for bennett) It's like they are mini Fred Taylors... (well maybe not mini, but younger). It would suck to miss out on them if they stay healthy.

Plus has everyone forgotten about Steven Davis? I doubt that he is starting but I'm sure he'll steal some carries from Foster. what about Godin or any back that Car. has. They are almost like Denver where they can throw anyone in the backfield and they will do good.
