2005 preview: Tight ends (Yahoo! Sports Exclusive): "More stars will be born at tight end this season, and there's nothing NFL defenses can do about it."
Fantasy Sac Says: (t d f) Chris Carter was a great WR but sadly he does about as much for writing as the Backstreet boys did for Hard Core Metal, not much. Please don't click on this link.

Here, I'll give you something better than that piece of crap! (I'll go 12 deep plus a couple -you shouldn't have to worry much past that in most leagues) -In order
TE:
Best-
Gonzalez -KC
Gates -SD
Crumpler -ATL
Next Best-
Heap -BAL
Witten -DAL
Shockey -NYG
Da. Clark -IND
McMichael -MIA (not totally sure about)
Wiggins -MIN
Likely to have an okay year
Johnson -SF (who else is there to throw too there?)
Smith -PHI (Seems like their best receiver there)
Franks -GB (always sounds good, but never seems to pull in big points)
Couple others you might consider: Pointed out to me by another listener
Miller -PIT (if ward keeps holding out he could put up big points even though he's a rook)
Troupe -TEN
I didn't go into much detail because, ...well isn't it obvious who are the good TEs? I do think like every year there is going to be a gap between the top 3 or 4 players and the rest. On average you looking at 50 points -or about 4 points a week. After your top 10 TEs your looking at another 50 point drop off, (or 8 total points a week from your top TEs) -see where I'm going with this yet?
There is no need to rush into drafting a TE like Gonzalez or Gates when the difference they are going to make you weekly is around 5 points. When if you wait a couple more rounds and get yourself a couple better WR/RBs to stack your starters and bench with, then get yourself an okay TE.
