Sixteen Questions: AFC team-by-team: "New England (t d f), Indianapolis (t d f) and Pittsburgh (t d f) are three powerhouses in the AFC, but they're not the only ones.
Fantasy sac says: A pretty decent article until I read the obligatory "Carson Palmer is our top sleeper". My question is if EVERYONE including my mom is saying Carson Palmer is a Sleeper, is he still a sleeper? I mean come on, if every article say, Carson Palmer may put up some serious numbers, then nobody is surprised. So can we just stop calling the kid a sleeper? I know 25 percent of Fantasy Football (t d f) is speculation and guessing but this sleeper shit is driving me to drink...more. Here is a hint, got a good "sleeper" KEEP IT TO YOUR DAMN SELF AND THEN DRAFT HIM

you should change the sleeper word to potential strong year. I agree with the sleeper thing. I don't tell guys on my team who I think will have a "potential strong year."
Lately i've been looking at guys who have contracts coming due. They seem to play with a sense of urgency.
Regarding the blog topic. I'll start with Denver. I think tatum bell is a sleeper :)
Every year they say someone is a sleeper -most of the time they are wrong, or it's some player that's not a sleeper. Like saying "I think T.Green is a sleeper..." ...You know, because you complain about that in your podcasts... A sleeper is someone you can snag round 5 or later that performs like a round 1 pick. It doesn't have to be a player you have never heard of, just someone who may slip through the first few rounds. In the past these were players like Westbrook, Holmes after his first big year with KC, Vick off FA, Portis when Anderson went down... and Anderson at that... C.Martin last year. With that in mind and looking at yahoos average draft picks (which seems off) but from it's layout I would say that:
Vick (I think you know who -Mr round 1 last year)
Griese QB
A.Brooks (they have him at round 10)
Clayton WR-TB
S.Smith WR-Car
Porter WR-Oak
M.Moore RB-Min
C.Williams RB-TB
Arrington RB-Ari
Dare I say Ricky? -I do! I don't think Brown will be able to handle it and mid-season Ricky will be the feature back.
Even though a lot of these are no brainers. I think they will have a chance to slip though and get you some good players in your mid and later rounds. Teams win because of their draft, and usually it's not because of their first 2 picks but from an over-all solid draft.
As for Palmer: I think Carr is a better QB should get that title over C.Palmer. (even though I keep joking with my league that he's my number 1 pick)
REAL, you nailed it! a "sleeper" is exactly that. Its Moldy Moore for Minnesota, Ruben Droughns (don;t even think I'm spell checking these posts). Guys like Tyrone Calico, if he suddenly has a great year with Mason being gone. Thats a Sleeper. Guys like Derrius Thompson for Miami, and 4 other guys I'm not saying becasue I don't want the guy who is in my leage who reads this to know! Mike Vick, Steve Smith and Porter are not sleepers becasue someone thinks they will do well. If Tim Dwight get 10 TD's in NE THATS a sleeper. Sleeper to me also means Not drafted.
Peyton Manning is my sleeper for this season. Nobody is going to take him. So I plan to take Manning first overall, then hopefully LaDainian Tomlinson will be there for the second round, followed by Randy Moss and Terrell Owens in the third and fourth respectively.
Those would be my sleepers.
Willie Green is my sleeper. you gotta love a guy that gets stabbed by his girlfriend then gets beat out by Lee Suggs. He's got something to prove. In all seriousness there is no such thing as a "sleeper". Hell if you do your research you'll know who's gonna be good just about every year.
haa haa...funny NFL Adam :)
right on real!
I picked up roy williams and javon walker after draft day and they did well for me. They were my sleepers.
that would be a cool topic to get into. upcoming players in contract years. damn, that's some research!
maybe we could help our blog captain (wink wink) with some of the footwork.
I know deuce m us up for a contract. I tell ya what, when he was healthy last year, he's was bad bad bad. He's strong and runs real parallel to the ground. I know they said it last year, but he potentially could have a good year. he's got a nose for the endzone. so does micheal pittman.
anyway.
who else....
btw thanks for the shout out on the podcast soos.
i think this podcast thing is gonna take off. good place for ads also. company's love that.
possible sleeper:
Will we get another Arena League success story with the Vikings' signing of 2005 Player of the Year, Siaha Burley? He was a Culpepper favorite at Central Florida back in the day. Will he work his way into the rotation?
from some site, i can't remember and don't wanna go back.
i had nate last year also. he rocked.
Great work guys, Lets get a list of guys in the end of a contract and see if that idea plans out. I know in the NBA and MLB thats always the case, not that I watch either...
I was just reading the other day about how Clayton (WR-TB) had a surgery on his knee in the off season. What's your take on that?
No worries, many football players get scoped in the offseason, its becoming the equivalent to getting a tooth pull in relationship to performance. Draft him high 2nd low 3rd round.
I remember watching clayton at Lsu, man he was a badass! I'm not suprised of his success in the nfl and i think he will do even better this year. he is the real deal.
i hope i can draft him.
