First of all i wanted to say great job with the show, keep it up! Everyone is talking about it is going to be a big year for Manninng and James and i wanted to ask you if you thought Harrison will put up big numbers this year. Even though he isnt the star of the team he is still one of the greatest receivers out their and personally i think Manning is going to look to throw to him more this season but i wanted to hear your opinion about him.
Harrison is going to have a "good" year. I fear that Reggie Wayne will post better numbers over all. Marvin is still the go to guy but Wayne is the young buck looking to take catches and TD's away from him.
I was goign to ask you if you could name the top 10 players for my league because some leagues are different in scoring so i would appreciate if you list the top 10 for me according to my league.
Completion-1 point
Passing Yards- 25 yards per point
Passing touchdowns- 6 points
interceptions- negative 2 points
rushing attempts-.5
rushing yards-12 yards per point
rushing touchdowns-6 points
receptions- 2 points
reception yards- 10 yards per point
reception touchdowns- 6 points
Top 10's are pretty easy, but concidering your points system I would Say Culpepper or Green becasue of the 1 point for completions. Even though Green had 17 INT's severl of those where more his receivers then him. I would also concider Vick seeing that your getting .5 for an attempt and 1 point per 12 yds, I think Vick averages 15 per carry or something silly like that. RB I would think Martin or Rudi Johnson should be a good grab for you based on points for attempts and yardage per carry.Of course if shaun Alexander or LT is out there grab them. As for WR I would grab Gonzo and Chad Johnson Gonzo will fill your TE spot but he will get you tons of points. I would also look at Derrick Mason he will be the Go-To guy on his team and always has plenty of receptions. Hope this helps!
WOW! 2 points per reception?! That is huge. Our league had 1 point last year and had to pull back because of how much it effected. I would go after one of the top 4 QBs and then get a couple top WRs then goto your RB.
I know they say take a RB in Rd 1, but I don't agree with that, because of how many there are this year. There are alway 5 that are feature backs, but there are always a few out there that slip threw or the main back gets hurt. If you're stong at your QB and WR it will make up for the RB weakness.
PLUS...
(sorry I forgot to add this)
in about any point system QB's are the ones that get the most points.
Our league all other spots are the same amount of players but we have 2 QB spots, and last year I followed the RB idea and got killed! maybe if you have one QB, grab a RB, but I think you'll get the most points from your QB then your WR.
at QB you're looking a 20 completions, 200 yrds 2TDs roughly 40 points (average)
some WR average 8-10 catches a game that's 16-20 points alone, then if they get 70 yrds maybe throw in a TD... your looking at 30+ points
RB can still get okay points but I'm sure you could still get a decent RB in round 5 (RB points for a great game 96yrds/2td/50yrds rec/5cat -35 points unless you have LT or maybe priest or a RB who gets a lot of catches you're not going to get those types of points)
good advise there on the QB deal. Yes this year there is going to be a lot of backs, but don't be fooled into thinking you can get by with one or 2 good ones. Remember one reason for the run on RB's is that they get hurt more often then any other player, including QB's so let me know how not getting a good RB does for you in week 7.
Excactly RBs always get hurt and you can usually snag a Free Agient or someone off waviers to maintain in that spot.
(wow I just read the first post... this is off from it)
My take on Harrison... I would take Wayne
