I know you don't like the term sleepers, so here are some undervalued recievers for you to think about. I like to get a couple stud rbs, especially this year, and find some real values at WR, because other than Moss, Owens, Harrison and maybe Holt now, the best of the rest aren't terribly consistent. Every year someone new puts up near elite numbers.
I'm looking at recievers like Chris Chambers. He finally has a decent #2 in Booker who should come around this year, he has a decent QB in Ferotte, and either Brown or Williams running the ball. A great reciever who may finally have the team around him to put up some numbers. How about Michael Clayton? A great rookie season, I know you like Griese, and Cadillac in the backfield and you can pick him up as your #2 in the 6th rd. Larry Fitzgerald is 6' 3" and therefore a good redzone targer (8td his rookie season) and in an improving offense. Ashley Lelie has yet to step up and realize his potential and he's let me down in the past, but i'd grab him as a #2 with great upside. Eventually he'll stop dropping those catches that he needs to make, why not this year? Donald Driver had 1200 yards and 9 tds. In an auction you can get him for $3-5, in a draft who knows how far he drops.
Get a few of these guys and then add a veteran like Ike Bruce or Jimmy Smith, who'll get you 1,000 yards and 6-8 tds and you can afford to use early picks on your backs, or in an auction simply invest in the most valuable position in fantasy, running back.

drrock73 Your on the money! Amazingly you have described my WR last year. I had Clayton, Fitzgerald and Lelie. I have been waiting for Chambers for a while now to be Javon Walkeresque. Don't give the starting job to Frerotte either. Who have your forgotten?
D. Bennett-11TD's last year and NO Mason this year and a health McNair.
L. Evans-Losman can't be that bad can he? Plus Moulds is M-old
D. Gabriel-Moss will be double teamed and that will help him get more then 500 yds with Collins getting the green light every game and Jordan in the backfield.

Speaking of loads of talent at a skilled position, I get the feeling that this year there are a ton of great runningbacks available. With the addition of the four great rookies this year, I think backs will be plentyful. What do you think? We use yahoo scoring as well and I'm thinking of picking up some running backs in later rounds due to the fact there will be so many of them. It seems as if there are three or four really great ones and many a notch down. Receivers score as many points as running backs in our league.
what i ment by "how do you score your league" is how u allocated points.
most people have 6pts for touchdown, but how about runningbacks and wideouts. We currently have 1pt/10rush yds and 1pt/10receiving yds and 1pt/25passing yards.
this is based on martin getting 1697yds, muhammad 1405, and culpepper 4717 yards. So it's rushing and receiving would be equal value in yardage and passing is ~ 2.5x higher.
Who else plays "receptions" as a catagory as that will make pass catching rb and possesion WR like coles and witten bigger players.
There are a lot of ways to allocate scoring. We typically give 6 points for a TD and additional points for yarage. My league also gives points for Completions and receptions (1). We also give negative points for lost fumbles and for missing easy PAT's and kicks. I have seen other leagues where they give like 2 points for every 20 yards etc. The goal is to have balance you don't want QB's doing all of the scoring so you give misc points to WR and RB's so they have additional value.
